Register for paid webinar

Join this special edition 2-hour update webinar providing an overview of Washington's landmark ADU law, HB 1337, the strongest state ADU law passed in the country to date.

Washington House Bill 1337 was passed into law in 2023, thereby requiring Washington cities to update their ADU codes to allow two ADUs, drop owner occupancy, eliminate off-street parking requirements, allow condoization, and reduce impact fees by 50% for ADUs. This law will supersede all existing municipal standards.

This webinar will provide an overview of the state law by the Department of Commerce, the authority that administers statewide housing laws in Washington. The presenters will cover how this law is going to be rolled out in practice by municipalities. The intended audience for this session are ADU practitioners (designers, builders, lenders, appraisers, real estate professionals, entrepreneurs) and municipal planning staff that are seeking to understand how this law will work statewide. Gain insights on this legislative topic and and the opportunity to consider how these zoning changes impact development entitlements. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about these new regulations.
